  7. This file contains the current list of files required to patch
  8. version 2.6 of of FoxPro, FoxPro add-ons and the FoxPro 
  9. Distribution Kits to the latest version, which is FoxPro 2.6a.
  10.  
  11. Some previously reported problems have been fixed in FoxPro
  12. 2.6a.  A complete list of fixes incorporated into FoxPro 
  13. 2.6a is outlined in the CHG26a.TXT file in the library where 
  14. you downloaded this file.

  16. If you are not experiencing one of the problems mentioned in the 
  17. CHG26a.TXT file, then you do not need to upgrade to FoxPro 2.6a.
  18.  
  19. To update your current copy of FoxPro, you will need to download 
  20. the appropriate files from this library.

  23. Products which can be patched
  24. -----------------------------

  26. Patches are available for Version 2.6 of FoxPro for Windows and
  27. version 2.6 of FoxPro for MS-DOS.  Patches are not available for 
  28. any earlier versions of FoxPro for Windows or FoxPro for MS-DOS. 
  29. Patches are not available for FoxPro for Macintosh or FoxPro for 
  30. UNIX.  If you have a version of FoxPro for Windows or FoxPro for 
  31. MS-DOS that precedes version 2.6, and you wish to upgrade to 
  32. version 2.6a, please contact the Microsoft Sales & Customer 
  33. Service office in your country.  In the United States, Microsoft

  128. How to proceed
  129. --------------
  130.  
  131. 1) Place the file(s) in the directory which contains FoxPro
  132.  
  133. After the appropriate files have been downloaded, copy the 
  134. files into the directory where version 2.6 of FoxPro resides.  
  135.  
  136.     Example: If you have FoxPro for Windows 2.6 without
  137.                  the distribution kit, and it is installed in
  138.                  "c:\fpw26", then you should download the file
  139.                  FPW.EXE and place that file into the c:\fpw26
  140.                  directory then execute it.
  141.                  
  142. 2) Execute one of the 'required' files
  143.  
  144. Change to the directory which contains the copy of FoxPro 
  145. that needs to be patched and also contains the patch 
  146. file (one of the following: FPW.EXE, FPW_DK.EXE, FPD.EXE, 
  147. FPD_DK.EXE).
  148.  
  149. Execute the patch file by typing its name at the MS-DOS
  150. prompt.  
  151.  
  152. When you execute the file, several files will be created,
  153. including a file called PREADME.TXT.  The file PREADME.TXT
  154. contains instructions which will tell you how to apply
  155. the patches.
  156.  
  157. PLEASE READ THE PREADME.TXT FILE BEFORE PROCEEDING.  IT
  158. CONTAINS IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE PATCH PROCESS.
